tagged by @elavoria for a wip extract... haven't written much in ages so i'll confess this is from a while ago. character called L being snarky about a nobleman with a penchant for the theatre... where have we seen that before
It was hardly subversive, it was charming only thinly, by moments; & there he appeared as a most insipid character named Dorante, who falls in love with a servant, & is rewarded by discovering her to be a noblewoman in disguise. I do not know how many servants Monsieur C means to unwrap before he realises that none of us are hiding a thing so great as a title [...] I am sure, dearest M., that you will tell me all about the evils of the theatre; & now that I have seen Monsieur on the stage, I am half convinced of them.
tagging @sylvienerevarine who i know tagged me probably hoping for something elder scrolls... this is all i've got for the moment. also tagging @druidx and @redyn-nerevarine if they like

Eddie, Paul McCartney's Yorkshire Terrier, was supposed to have been given by him to Jane Asher as a gift on her twenty-second birthday🌺🌺🌺
After McCartney & Asher engagement's break up in July 1968, Eddie officially became Paul's second dog in addition to his famous Old English Sheepdog, Martha, whom he already did own since September 1966🌺🌺🍂
Although it is known Martha died in 1981 at McCartney's High Park Farm in Scotland, Eddie's death date (and place ) is still uncertain🌺🌺

tagged by @elavoria and @sylvienerevarine for a wip extract... i'm afraid i'm on a bbc merlin high of all things. but if you do not know it well, this is simply a bit about a boy from a village being spellbound by a city, and my oc trying to rope him into her gossip network servants' union
He asked how many hands had worked upon a tapestry; at my guess, said that there were fewer people in his village; and leaning out of a window, lost count of the rooftops. – He marvelled at every armoured guard which passed, for metal was at once might and wealth, and he had metal only in his belt-buckle. – And most especially he admired the instinct which led me: for one might navigate fields by their patchwork, and forests by their variety; but Camelot’s corridors, he said, are all alike, and twisty, and the plaques upon the doors are quite illegible. ‘Once you know it,’ said I, ‘you will find charm and irregularity in the city. There is so much coming and going, that there is fresh interest every week.’ – ‘Shall I have any part in this interest,’ said he, ‘if I become a servant?’ – ‘Oh!’ said I, ‘we are the best placed to hear everything: invisible messengers; and in far less danger than those who have to go gallivanting off on Quests and things.’

Have you ever thought about getting into dog sports yourself, training yorkies of your own to perform sports similar to the breed's historical jobs? There's some other terrier sports involving going through tunnel mazes in timed events.
So, funnily enough, I actually have thought about it plenty of times before! I’m not necessarily into earthdog-trials nor barn-hunt because those types of sports (despite being terrier specific alongside other breeds) don’t really spark my exact interest, as I’m far more interested in actual afield work (ie: hunting, pest control, etc.)… but I do admire from afar.
Though I am interested, like I mentioned, in pest control/eradication with dogs the most (alongside hunting ofc). My own Yorkie, Mia, has caught 2-3 mice for us so far. And I try to regularly take her out on the parts of our property that holds alot of random objects that were dumped, & is therefore a living spot for mice, in hopes of kicking one or a few out from underneath the rubble for Mia to get. We haven’t gotten any that way yet, but we have - backtracking to earlier - gotten them by her chasing them in our own home and therefore getting them. Our mouse infestation gets disastrous when the colder seasons arrive, and therefore we’ll literally see them run through our home whilst we’re still awake.
I plan on continuously owning more Yorkies in the future and hopefully utilizing them for similar purposes, IE: pest control OR small-game hunting (rabbit for me), but if not I will still be owning them and will take pride in training these dogs to be their upmost greatest selves.

^ this mouse was found running into my brothers room. I called mia upstairs into his room and she sniffed the mouse out - and therefore we found it hiding under his dresser. I was able to scare the mouse out from under the dresser and Mia therefore grabbed it and killed it instantly.
I’ve also done canicross with her! I don’t do that a-lot but it’s definitely fun when I’m in the mood to run!

Saturday was the final day of the Theakston Nidderdale League for 2024...and I headed to Sicklinghall.
You can read all about the day on John Fuller's Cricket Yorkshire - it features some exclusive images as well.
Follow this link to go directly to the article.

It was great to be at a game involved in promotion...and with so many potential outcomes for Thornton-le-Moor, Ripley, and Sicklinghall - it was a tough one to decided where to go!
Tumblr media
I think it was lucky to be involved at the game that mattered, with Sicklinghall going up by the difference in the net run rate.

North Stainley played their part in what was a competitive game of cricket and a season finale.

The season may have just finished, but planning for the indoor winter leagues is underway and so is the planning for summer 2025.
If I've visited a game you've been involved in and taken photos, they are available to purchase either as a social media download or in print format.
Take a look at our prices and FAQs on our website here.

A article about the season just gone is currently being written and a larger pictorial look-back is being put together for later on this year...keep an eye out for both!
Tumblr media
So, with the games scheduled for this Sunday all marked as conceded...my outdoor grassroots season appears to be at an end. Thank you to all the clubs that welcomed me this summer - the final count hasn't been completed, but it it certainly over 60 games!
